This project attempts to capitalize on the strong potential of traditional culture, which is thought to be of great appeal to tourists, by focusing on Nihonbashi. As a pioneering endeavor, we will collaborate to create Edo-period cultural tourism experiences in the Kanto region. The program will focus on generating unique experiences with "extraordinary individuals" (such as cultural inheritors) and "extraordinary places" (cultural hotspots like as Nihonbashi and Ginza) serving as the stage.
Programme to experience Ukiyo-e, which flourished during the Edo period.
Ukiyo-e, which were widely loved by the general public and contributed to the development of Edo culture because they depicted the popular culture, daily life, customs and landscapes of the time, express rich hues and depth, delicacy of fine lines and intensity of colour by precisely carving and layering different woodblocks for each colour.
In order to properly convey this artistic, cultural and historical significance to foreign visitors, Ukiyo-e prints are digitally enlarged and explained in detail
