We leave the hotels in Salvador and head towards Forte Santo Antônio da Barra, built in 1536 and which, in 1698, received the Barra Lighthouse, which is still in operation today. We will pass by Corredor da Vitória, Largo do Campo Grande and Avenida 7 de Setembro, until we begin our walking tour of Pelourinho. The first stop is Praça Municipal, with a panoramic view of the Lower City, including Elevador Lacerda, the Port and Mercado Modelo. We continue on to Praça da Sé, where the ruins of the first Basilica in Brazil and the Archbishop's Palace are located. We continue towards Largo do Pelourinho, visiting the Igreja dos Rosário dos Pretos and Fundação Casa de Jorge Amado. We end the tour at the Igreja e Convento de São Francisco, a jewel of Brazilian Baroque (fee: R$10.00).
