Travel to the westernmost tip of Bali with a hotel pick-up to catch the ferry to Java from Gilimanuk. Upon arrival at Ketapang port in Banyuwangi, travel by 4WD vehicle to the sleepy village of Licin and drive through a rainforest of giant ferns and trees on the slopes of Mount Ijen.
Ascend to the summit to look into the crater and marvel at the blue fires of the volcano under a canopy of stars. Get a panoramic view of the magnificent turquoise sulfur lake and spectacular landscape in the first light of day. Then, return to the base of the mountain to enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant before the drive back to Bali.
Amazing tour! We are really happy with our experience hiking up Ijen to see the blue flame and suffer mine and very impressed with the tour operator. Our tour guides, Dalem (on Bali island) and Agus (on Java island), were very attentive. My friend was wearing an improper shoes for the hike and I didn't have a jacket for the breezy weather so our tour guide coordinated with his colleague to prepare us extra sneakers and helped me get a rental jacket at the base camp. Agus was very friendly and looked out for both me and my friend throughout the whole hiking trip as some part of the trail can be a bit dangerous. He also shared with us some interesting local/cultural trivia during the trip which are nice to learn. Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a trip to Ijen from Bali but you don't have the luxury of time to spend a night at base camp.
It was an exciting tour to see the Mount Ijen and the crater with the Blue Flames. It included the transfer to Java from Bali with hotel pick-up, ferry and a ride to the starting point. We started hiking early in the morning to reach the crater at sunrise. Our guide Agus was very friendly and helpful, he provided us with gas masks and flashlights, told us a lot of stories about local history and culture and took a lot of breathtaking pictures. This hiking tour was one of the top 3 experiences so definitely recommended. Hope to make more hiking with guys on next visit to Java.
Great and excellent
