    Established in October 1992 as Bongmu Waterfront Park at the foot of
    Palgongsan Mountain, it is a nature park in the city center that is attracting
    attention as a cozy resting place for citizens. The park is equipped with
    children's playgrounds, sports facilities, and camping grounds, making it
    ideal for family outings on weekends, and there are more than 8,000
    wildflowers and wild grasses planted along the trails and paths around Dansan
    Reservoir. Bongmu Waterfront Park provides a resting place for healthy living
    and a natural ecology learning center for citizens.

  • Donghwasa Temple

    Donghwasa Temple is a historic Silla temple located in the Donghakdong valley
    with Palgongsan Mountain's Waterfall Valley, Bindae-gol, and Susugol on the
    left and right. It is the headquarters of the 9th diocese of the Jogye sect of
    Korean Buddhism. It was founded in 493 (King Sogi 15) and called Yugasa
    Temple. Later, in 832 (King Heungdeok 7), The temple was rebuilt by Royal
    Preceptor Simji. Although it was winter at that time, paulownia trees were in
    full bloom around the temple, so it is said that it was renamed Donghwasa
    Temple.

    Most of the existing temples were built during the Yeongjo Dynasty, including
    Daewoongjeon, Yeongyeongjeon, Cheontaegak, Yeongsanjeon, Bongseoru,
    Simgumdang, Chilsunggak, Sanshingak, Eunghyanggak, Wonumgak, and Cheonanmun.
    The attached hermitages include Geumdangam, Biroam, Naewonam, Budoam,
    Yangjinam, and Yeombulam.


  • BANGJJA YUGI MUSEUM (KOREAN BRONZEWARE)

    Bangjja Yugi Museum, located at the foot of Palgongsan Mountain, famous for
    its scenic beauty, opened on May 25, 2007. The museum has one basement and two
    floors (17,880 square meters of land and 3,758 square meters of building
    area), and is equipped with exhibition halls such as the Yugi Culture Room,
    Donation Room, Recreated room, and Project Exhibition Room in the Exhibition
    Building, as well as outdoor performance halls and experience halls. In the
    exhibition building, there is the Yugi Culture Room, which provides an
    overview of Yugi history and the craftsmanship of those who inherit Yugi, and
    the Donation Room, which houses the works of Bong-Ju Lee, the master craftsman
    of Bangja Yugi. There is also a Recreated room of Bangjja Yugi, which shows
    the production process of Bangjja Yugi with 1:1 human figures and working
    models, and a special exhibition room for self-projects. Other facilities
    include a video education room, a souvenir shop, a storage room, and a
    library. At the outdoor experience center, visitors can experience a variety
    of games such as Jegichagi(shuttlecock kicking), Tuho(javelin throw), ring
    throw, and Yut-nori(a traditional folk game of Korea).


  • Bangjja Yugi Museum displays some of the 1,489 Bangjja Yugi pieces that Bong-Ju Lee, a craftsman designated as an important intangible cultural property, created and collected throughout his life.
