30 minsAdmission Ticket FreeStop at this World Heritage Site of the Gum Road in Dhofar province, located at the southern end of the Empty Quarter Desert in the so-called "shasr" or "Ssar" part. Learn about this ancient site discovery history. Evidence has indicated that the site has been inhabited since the Stone Age, and there are traces indicating the most recent settlement of this land dating back to the Iron Age, i.e. around 325 BC. Excavations and excavations at the site revealed the existence of an ancient archaeological city believed to be the city of "Erm al-Imad", which was mentioned in the Holy Quran, a land that the Hood people "did not create in the country", as mentioned in the Qur'anic text, and excavations are continuing to reveal further traces. Men and women should ensure shoulders and knees are covered when in public, especially in souks, shops and villages.
