If you are staying in the quaint town of Kas (Kaş), take advantage of our day trip to Kekova and Demre (Myra) for ancient ruins and striking turquoise waters that are just too good to leave!
Highlights of the boat trip include the underwater ruins of the Sunken City, wandering around the village of Kaleköy (ancient Simena), and swimming in numerous stunning bays such as Burç Bay, and Karemlik Bay, where you can go on the exploration for sea turtles! Once we reach land again, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Lycian history, with a visit to the Museum of Lycian Civilizations and the fascinating rock-cut tombs of ancient Myra, to name a few.

We are glad we did it because it took the stress out of organising ourselves. BUT there was no glass bottom boat, the guide did not speak English very well and the information provided about the sites we were passing on the boat was very limited. The vehicle to get to the harbour where we boarded the boat was air conditioned and in good condition but half drunk water bottles were left by previous occupants and the air con was turned off while we were visiting the other sites so the car was very hot and stuffy when we got back in - our time at the tombs and the church were not very long so we were not saving the environment by turning it off for that time. The driver was not a tour guide. Also the prices at the church and tombs were higher than advertised. I know there is high inflation in Turkey at the moment and the price might be changing frequently but the website should be kept updated. The tombs were 13 euros and the church 17 euros.
