Highlights

Dive into an unforgettable adventure in Iceland’s glacial waters! The Silfra Fissure, located in Þingvellir National Park is celebrated as one of the world’s top diving spots. This 6-hour guided tour offers an unparalleled opportunity to scuba dive between the continental plates of Eurasia and North America, an extraordinary experience found nowhere else.
Explore all four sections of Silfra, beginning with the narrow Silfra Deep Crack and progressing to the majestic Silfra Cathedral, where you’ll dive to a depth of 22 meters (72 feet). The journey concludes at the Silfra Lagoon, where the crystal-clear waters and ethereal blue hues create a magical finale.
With visibility exceeding 100 meters and breathtaking underwater rock formations, Silfra’s glacial waters offer a world like no other. Whether you’re mesmerized by the vibrant colors or the unique geological wonder of diving between two tectonic plates, this experience is as awe-inspiring as it is unique.

Itinerary

  • Thingvellir National Park

    4 hoursAdmission Ticket Included
Þingvellir National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southwest Iceland, famed for its striking landscapes and historical significance. Nestled between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, the park boasts dramatic lava fields, Þingvallavatn lake, and the historic Alþingi, Iceland’s first parliament, established in 930 AD. A highlight of the park is Silfra, a glacial fissure with crystal-clear waters offering unparalleled visibility, where visitors can snorkel or dive between two continents. Þingvellir’s unique blend of natural beauty, history, and adventure makes it a must-visit destination in Iceland.
  • Silfra

1 hours 30 minsAdmission Ticket Included
During this scuba diving adventure, you’ll explore all four sections of Silfra. The journey begins with the Silfra Deep Crack, a narrow and winding passage near the entrance. As the dive continues, the crack opens slightly into the Silfra Hall, which leads to the Silfra Cathedral—the deepest point of the dive at 22 meters (72 feet) below the surface. After the Cathedral, we head into the stunning Silfra Lagoon, the final section of the dive. At the exit platform, your guide will assist you in removing your fins, followed by a short 300-meter (984-foot) walk back to the car park. If needed, we can remove your weights or gear to make the walk easier, and there’s an option to rest at the visitor entrance along the way.

Please note that PADI open water license or comparable is required to be able to participate in this tour. As all dives are performed in a dry suit, it is required to have a dry-suit certification or at least 10 logged drysuit dives to be able to join the tour.
Divers must supply their sizes of suit upon booking. It is recommended that your most recent dive has been within the last 2 years before diving in Silfra, as this dive is rated as a challenging dive.
Since you will be wearing snorkeling/dive mask to see underwater, there can be nothing in the way of the seal to keep them from filling up with water; That is, you cannot wear glasses underneath the mask; you will have to go without them, so wear contact lenses or bring your own goggles with prescription.

As divers are aware, it is strongly advised to wait 24 hours after diving to fly.
