Ancient Rome area and Vatican Museums visits involve significant walking. The Colosseum elevators are available for visitors with mobility issues. The Roman Forum and Palatine surfaces are uneven, but a considerable portion of the area has wheelchair paths.
WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS AND STROLLERS: We suggest avoiding strollers and using a baby sling instead. Like wheelchairs and walkers, strollers are not allowed in the passage from the Sistine Chape directly to the Basilica ( 50 steps downward and 50 upwards). Your private tour will end without the Basilica visit.
