Highlights

Nanjing is one of four ancient capitals in China. Ten dynasties or regimes took Nanjing as the Capital since the third century, and there are plenty of culture relics here. This day trip will let you explore Grand Bao'en Temple, Mt Niushou and Usnisa Palace(holy relic palace) with your local guide to learn the history and Buddhism culture. The constructions for the temple and palace are fabulous to take photos.

Itinerary

At 8am, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby in centrally located Nanjing hotels with a signage writing your name. Firstly you will visit Dabao’en Temple or Grand Baoen Temple in Nanjing. It was the first Buddhism temple built in southern China about 18000 years ago. During Ming Dynasty(1368—1644AD), it was the royal temple, the Porcelain Tower in the temple was very well-known in the history. Unfortunately, the temple was destroyed in 1854 in Qing Dynasty. In 2008, there were many relics and antiques unearthed from the temple ruin. In 2010, the temple started to rebuild on its original ruin.

One of the holy relics was unearthed in Grand Bao'en Temple in 2008 in Nanjing, which is stored in the Usnisa Palace on the Mt Niushou now. The fabulous construcions here are very impressive.
