Itinerary:
Our Phillip Island penguin adventure begins in the late morning, giving you
time to have a lie in before the exciting day ahead!
We will depart Melbourne, heading southeast of the city centre. Our first stop
of the day will be at Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. Here you
will get to meet a wide range of native Australian wildlife including
kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, and wombats. You can even choose to cuddle a
koala!
After exploring the wildlife sanctuary, we will head to Cape Woolamai Beach.
This is a great location for a walk along the beach and to watch the surfers
in action. We will continue to the Nobbies, where you can stroll along the
boardwalk, admiring the gorgeous coastal scenery. From the boardwalk, you will
also be able to see Seal Rocks, and you just might be able to spot a fur seal
or a whale.
As the daylight slowly begins to disappear, we will go to Summerland Beach to
watch the sunset. This is also where the main event of the evening will occur.
You will begin to see the Little Penguins popping out of the water after a day
out at sea. They will then make their way across the beach to burrow in the
sand dunes for the rest of the night. This is truly one of the most adorable
phenomena you will ever see!
After an eventful day of taking in the scenery and admiring the wildlife, we
will head back to Melbourne.
