Plant-based aspiring chefs, don't shy away – vegetarian alternatives are also available upon request.
Together with a friend we found this tour both fun and educational. We started the tour by visiting the local market to learn what ingredients different Korean dishes required. We bought some ingredients for the dishes we had to cook in this tour but also left us roaming for a bit to but anything else we wanted. We then headed back to Jomin’s cooking studio to cook. We cooked three things: bulgogi (불고기), bibimpap (비빔밥) and soft tofu stew (순두부찌개). Jomin got us to make most things from basic ingredients except for some cases where for example making a sauce would be time consuming (in which case we’d use a store-bought sauce. I think my favourite was the soft tofu stew. It was so delicious and fun to make as it required making the stew stock from scratch instead of using powders or concentrates. We also had time to sit down and eat our food without rushing. Jomin served us some really yummy rice wine (막걸리) too. It was also really special because the tour group was really small with only four of us, so plenty of time to ask questions. Jomin also provided us with take out containers for food we didn’t finish. I would recommend this tour to experience Korean cooking!
The trainer was beyond good. She's detailed and clear with her instructions. Will definitely recommend this to others!
