Itinerary

  • Saint Germain des Pres Quarter

    1 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
The heart of Paris starts here in this quarter of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. We will enter the oldest church in Paris for a glimpse back a 1,000 years of history. Facing the church we walk by the famous cafés, Les Deux Magots & Café de Flore, for a selfie moment. We carry on exploring the entire neighbourhood poking our noses against boutique shop windows until we find one that peaks our interest for entering. The quarter has other points of interests and hidden gems that we may pass by like the Eugène Delacroix Museum or the spot where Benjamin Franklin signed the American Revolution Peace Treaty, or even a Picasso sculpture. And of course if our private tour group has become a little hungry for a snack then we do a tasting from the best Italian bakery in all of Paris or a classic crêpe cooked right in front of your eyes. The area is so quaint & beautiful we take our time and enjoy every moment we have here in this quarter of the 6th arrondissement.
  • Louvre Museum

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
We see everything about the Louvre Museum that we can without actually going inside. From the Dan Brown Da Vinci Code inverted pyramid to the actual Pyramid designed by Ieoh Ming Pei located in Napoleon's courtyard. We find some secret views of the interior, ancient ruins from when Paris was a walled in city, and of course a stroll around the carousel and the Tuileries Gardens.
  • Quartier de l'Opera

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
The Opéra Garnier is like no other opera house and it's a must-see which we do a complete walk around as we turn our heads in all directions admiring all the different aspects of this neighbourhood. Which leads us to the famous Galeries Lafayette department store for a buzz of chic and glamour decorated in art deco under a Byzantine dome 150 feet high that is top with an panoramic viewing terrace of almost all of Paris! People from previous tours love this view and so will you.
  • Latin Quarter

    1 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
Everyone wants to see Paris' left bank area know as the Latin Quarter and so do we. Keep in mind this area is enormous and time is fleeting so we see what we can and hop on buses and or metros to hyper jump around the neighbourhood. A visit to this area is not complete without a stroll down the oldest street in Paris and depending on what century this street at one time was outside the Paris walls. If our tour group is still a little peckish for some tastings and if the season is on then we shall try a dozen oysters perhaps with a glass of white wine in a traditional marketplace not far from Odéon. If there is time and we should try to make the time we will explore deeper into the quarter and find a few more hidden gems like a 1st century Roman amphitheatre that sat 15,000 spectators watching gladiatorial combats like the Coliseum in Rome. And let's not forget Emily in Paris and her neighbourhood..) We go there anyway to walk around the Place du Panthéon and the surrounding area.
  • Pont-Neuf

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
The oldest bridge in Paris is aptly named in French as the "New Bridge" so we know which bridge we are talking about. We are most likely coming from in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral and are approaching the bridge by walking alongside the river's edge. We cross the bridge in front of the statue of king Henry 4th and take photos of the river, the left bank, the right bank, even the Eiffel Tower in the background. You learn about the hourly boat cruise departure points, the dinner cruises, the hidden squares on the island. If there is time we see the famous florist markets, the deportation museum, the medieval prison towers of Marie Antoinette, and glimpses of the Shakespearean Book Company and Saint Michael's fountain.
  • Montmartre

    2 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
You can't miss viewing the big white church on the mountain at one point during your visit to Paris and so we make the effort to go there and see it and the historic area for ourselves. The mountain of martyrs, Montmartre, dates back to when a Bishop, Saint-Denis, was martyred at the top for preaching the gospel to people that were not quite ready. Almost 2,000 years later the area is known for the impressionist artists that lived up there and for the cafés and cabarets that frequented. We see an endless list of must-sees in the area including; the Moulin Rouge, famous Rue Lepic, the I Love You wall, the oldest métro entrance, Van Gogh's apartment, Picasso's studio, Dalida's home & statue and some of the most picturesque streets in Paris. This is a fun part of the day's adventure and it's time to relax a little so yes another tasting is in order, perhaps of raclette cheese on baguette, an assortment of macarons, local beers, maybe a hot wine or sangria. Plus the Funicular ride!
