The tour itself went great, but we were charged an extra hidden fee because we weren’t told to return in the same exact boat as which we came with. We had returned with our other part of the group and with a boat that looked exactly like our previous one. The tour quide was then accusing us of breaking the rules that she didn’t even tell us and for not listening to her, although every time we were being guided we tried our best to listen. When we then tried to explain our viewpoint of the situation after being accused of breaking rules we didn’t know existed, almost everything we said was dismissed and ignored which left us feeling unheard and mistreated. The only reply we got in the beginning of the conversation was that we just didn’t listen, although we genuinly did. For accusing us for not listening and then not wanting to listen to our side of the situation seemed quite unfair. We found out later after asking that the problem with being on the wrong boat was about the other boat crew not getting their full pay if not having 6 people on board. When we were boarding the wrong boat the crew noticed that we were supposed to be on a different boat, but they didn’t tell us about having to pay extra if staying with them or to get out of the boat while we were still at shore and able to move in or out of the boat. We find it odd that the boat crew members didn’t say anything to us when knowing that their co-workers wouldn’t get their full pay. If we would have been told about an extra charge and someone not getting their full pay we would have just moved to the other boat happily with no issues. Another thing we found that could use improvement was the underground river boat money management. We had paid for this tour fully in advance (except the environmental fee), so we wondered why we had to pay extra for riding the wrong boat. Instead the management could have transferred the needed amount we already paid in advance to the right boat person, instead of someone else or the management getting extra. Tho the amount wasn’t too big that we couldn’t afford to pay it but it was rather the principle of the situation that annoyed us. Firstly getting accused then not being heard for our side and then being forced to pay for something that wasn’t our fault and what could have been easily avoided still at shore. In conclusion beware of getting involved with hidden fees and bad management.
