Itinerary

Sumo is a Japanese national sport and one of the most traditional parts of the culture. It is believed that the origin was in the mythical age. Sumo has been influenced the Japanese culture and the lives of many. Sumo has many faces: historical, cultural, Shinto ritual or athletic, and each of them has an important role.

You will learn a lot about sumo from knowledgeable experts and have an opportunity to try Chanko Nabe (a Japanese hotpot dish unique to the Sumo world) as well. We hope you have great time and enjoy experiencing the Sumo world.

Chanko Nabe (hotpot) with Sumo Demonstration

You cannot experience this anywhere else! The venue opens at 11:45am and the Sumo demonstration starts at 12pm. The Chanko Nabe lunch starts at 12:50pm. The program ends at 2pm, but you may leave the restaurant anytime before 2pm.

The Sumo Demonstration

You will hear the history of sumo as well as explanations of the manner, training, et cetera in English and receive a brief explanation about fundamental actions by two wrestlers who were real sumo wrestlers in the past. You will also be introduced to some techniques including prohibited techniques and observe three real matches. You can try your hand at sumo with the wrestlers (Guests will be provided a costume) and take a souvenir photo with them!

Menu subject to change. Other beverages are available at an additional charge. The best seat for you will be arranged by order of booking. Depending on the number of group members, we may request for you to separate your group into 2 or 3 to use another table.

Sky tree tower:

Sky tree tower is the highest building in Tokyo.

If you choose to book this option (additional cost), you will receive a e-ticket. Please show your e-ticket at the 4th floor of sky tree (Soramachi store.), then you will receive a physical ticket to the elevator that leads you 350 meters above the ground.  

Directions from restaurant to Sky tree:

Once you exit from the restaurant, please turn right, and go straight until Kaminarimon street. 

Turn left at Kaminarimon street and keep going until you see the bridge. (You will pass Kaminarimon gate, huge red gate)

Take the Asakusa line subway from Asakusa station and get off at Oshiage station (Only 3 min. ride.)

Then please go up to 4th floor and exchange your e-ticket to physical ticket.
