Highlights

Visiting Cairns or the Northern Beaches? Get out of the city by heading to the Tablelands on this wildlife tour. Journey through the southern suburbs of Cairns, passing by a mob of agile wallabies. Observe a fascinating 800-year-old Cathedral Fig Tree with a giant root system, before stopping at Lake Barrine for an afternoon tea.

Keep an eye out for interesting wildlife! Spot the Boyd’s Forest Dragon, Musky Rat Kangaroo and even rainforest birds. Learn how the local aboriginal tribes use plants and vegetation. Before enjoying a local dinner in Yungaburra, enter a private platypus viewing area to visit a breeding pair of this rare mammal.

The real adventure begins at night when you head back to the rainforest to see some nocturnal wildlife. On clear nights, the minimal light pollution allows stargazers mesmerising views of the Southern Cross and Milky Way!
