- The reserved seat coupons can be exchanged for one time, and the reserved seats need to be exchanged separately. The reservation is at the green machine or green window.
- When the number of reserved seats is used up or there is no prior redemption of the reserved seat ticket, the ticket can be used to take any free seat directly.
- The HARUKA tickets cannot be used to board any other Limited Express trains besides Kansai-Airport Express "HARUKA".
- Within the limits mentioned above, it is possible to board other trains besides the Kansai-Airport Express "HARUKA", such as Special Rapid Services, Rapid Services and Local trains.
- Please note that the Limited Express non-reserved seat fare cannot be refunded if passengers use a train other than the Kansai-Airport "HARUKA".
- It is possible to get off the train at other stations within the area of usage. However, this is not a ticket for unlimited rides, and it will be collected when you pass through the ticket gates.
- Additional fees apply when using trains outside the area of usage.
- When taking a reserved seat or boarding a first class car (green car) on the Kansai-Airport Express "HARUKA", an additional Limited Express fare is required.
- Separate fees apply when using a car or train where numbered boarding tickets or liner tickets are required.

Is the JR Haruka Express part of the JR Pass?
The Limited Express Haruka is the only direct train service from Kansai Airport to Kyoto Station. The journey takes about one hour and fifteen minutes and is fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass. However, if your travel plans don't make full use of the Japan Rail Pass - such as when you're visiting just a few places - buying Haruka train tickets individually might be a more affordable option in the long run. Just keep in mind that the Haruka Express is different from the Kansai Airport Rapid Service (also covered by the JR Pass), which connects to JR stations at Tennoji, Osaka, and Kyobashi.
Do I need to reserve seats on the JR Haruka Airport Express?
You don't technically need to reserve seats on the Haruka Express, as there are non-reserved seating options available. However, if you'd prefer the comfort and peace of mind of having a guaranteed seat - especially during busy times - it's highly recommended to get reserved seat tickets. Each train has a mix of non-reserved and reserved seating, so it's entirely up to you.
Can I use an IC card for the JR Haruka Airport Express?

The ride from Kyoto Station to KIX was great. I took unureserved seat because it was bothersome to have to make reservations for a seat. Anyway, if you board at Kyoto Station, you will always get a seat in the unreserved seat carriages as that's the first stop. At Osaka, quite a number of people who did not make reservations for reserved seats had to stand.
