Experience Rif Pottery: Four Days of Authentic Craftsmanship Immerse yourself in the traditional pottery of the Rif Mountains with a four-day workshop led by local potter, Zhour. Day 1: Walk from Hicham's homestay through pine forests and olive groves to meet Zhour. Accompanied by her donkey, we’ll gather clay and gravel, then learn hand-modeling techniques using two rotating discs. Day 2: Back at the workshop, we’ll burnish the pots with a small limestone, smoothing the surface and perfecting the shape. Day 3: We’ll dye and decorate the pots with natural pigments and a goat-hair brush, then fire them on a bed of pine needles, firewood, and natural fuel. Day 4: After breakfast, collect your finished pottery—your own handcrafted souvenirs from this unique journey.
