Highlights

Salar de Uyuni tour is one of the greatest attractions of Bolivia. We will leave from Uyuni and during 3 days we will go through an amazing landscape, a white horizon that is lost in infinity. In the largest salt desert in the world we will visit such wondelful places as the train cemetery, the cactus island (a spectacular ecosystem), the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, the high plateau lagoons, the Siloli desert or the geysers field “Sol in the morning”, unforgettable landscapes that turn this area into a unique place in the world.

Itinerary

Uyuni - Train Cemetery - Refinery - Incahuasi Island - Salt Hotel
  • Train Cemetery

    2 hoursAdmission Ticket Included
We’ll pick you up at your accommodations in Uyuni at about 10:30 a.m. Our first stop is right outside the city, at the Cemetery of Trains. Just a few minutes drive outside the city limits, we’ll see an array of abandoned locomotives resulting in a very peculiar yet fascinating landscape.
  • Colchani

    1 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
Next, we’ll head to Colchani Village. At the village, you’ll visit the Salt Museum and the Salt Refinery, where we’ll learn about the extraction and refinement process. Finally, we’ll visit the local artisan shops to pick up souvenirs to round out our visit to the charming town.
  • Salar de Uyuni

    1 hoursAdmission Ticket Included
12:00 p.m. - The group will then enter the Salt Desert at noon, visiting the heaps, the “Ojos del Salar” (small holes in the ground that allow you to see the water below), and the fascinating Playa Blanca Museum, built completely of salt blocks from the Uyuni Salt Flats.
  • Isla Incahuasi

    1 hoursAdmission Ticket Not Included
1:00 p.m. - The next stop will be Incahuasi Island, a place that is home to a unique variety of giant cacti. Due to the island’s elevation, it serves as one of the best vantage points to enjoy the fascinating landscape. Don’t be shy, take lots of photos with this unique perspective of the Uyuni Salt Flats. Later, we’ll take a short walk and then enjoy lunch on the white plains before continuing the exciting adventure.
  • Uyuni

At roughly 7:00 p.m., we’ll be arriving at the Salt Hostel. On the way to the hostel, you’ll have a chance to enjoy the serene beauty of a sunset at the Salt Flats. After we arrive at the hostel, we’ll eat dinner together and tuck in for the night.

  • Laguna Canapa

    2 hoursAdmission Ticket Included
7:00 a.m. - Begin day two with an early breakfast before leaving for the famous Colorada Lagoon; one of the largest and most scenic lagoons. Before reaching the lagoon, we’ll pass through the Chiguana Salt Flats and stop at the Ollague Volcano Viewpoint to enjoy the panoramic views. After, we’ll visit the Cañapa, Hedionda, Hona, and Ramadita Lagoons. These lagoons are also known as the altiplanic or colored lagoons.
  • Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna

    6 hoursAdmission Ticket Not Included
9:00 a.m. - We’ll reach the Eduardo Avaroa National Park after passing through the Siloli Desert. Located more than 16,404 feet (5,000 meters) above sea level it provides views of the gorgeous volcanic landscapes consisting of varying colors. To finish out the day, we’ll head to our accommodations near the lagoon and unwind (another opportunity to stretch our legs and explore) until nightfall. Dinner will be served before heading to our shared dorms (six beds) or a private room (available when making the booking). Please remember, that the second-day accommodations are very modest.
