Come and discover Cividale and the Collio wine area in Friuli Venezia Giulia!
We are going to discover Cividale, a UNESCO site for its Lombard treasures. It was the first Duchy of the Lombards on Italian soil from the sixth to the end of the eighth century. A walk through the alleys and seeing the art treasures will take you back in time.
The town has always been a meeting point of cultures and peoples: from the Celts to the Romans, from the Carolingians to the Patriarchs. Countless are the artistic beauties and monuments of art such as the Devil's Bridge, The Cathedral and the Lombard Temple.
We then move on to the Collio wine area, one of the most beautiful and famous DOC wine areas in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It feels like being in Tuscany surrounded by rolling hills and breathtaking scenery with the famous terraced vineyards called ronchi. We will visit a typical winery to taste native wines and more.
Pickup at Cormons and Udine stations is possible. Both easy to reach by train from Trieste.
